Pictures! With Captions!!

The past two days have been half running around doing touristy things, 2/5 sleep-cation, and 1/10 real estate.

Monday I went to the top of the tallest building in the Southern Hemisphere, and today I took a ferry ride over to the Bellevue/Anthem of Auckland to look at some stuff.  Enjoy my photo essay of the two day joint.

The view from outside my first hotel.  Think Vancouver, BC, with variations of palm trees.

The first two night were spent here.  Maybe worth $110 NZD, maybe not.

Located on the same corner as Hancheck Bar & Grill, a favourite local hangout for SNOA basketball officials.

The Viaduct, once a run down cesspool of drugs, prostitution and crime, now famous for it's upscale nightlife and restaraunt scene.  Not sure why they ruined it.

Below is a bunch of pics I took from the top of SkyTower, just to give an idea of what Auckland and surrounding areas look like.

Yep, that's a human, about to fall fast.

Hey that's fantastic I'm still not f'ing walking on it.

Mt. Eden, highest point in Auckland.  Hardly worthy of the title Mt. in my opinion.  Maybe Lump.

One Tree Hill.  Yes, from the U2 song.  The tree isn't there anymore.  Much like when Twin Pines Mall changed to Lone Pine Mall after Alex P. Keaton drove over one of them with his time machine.

Hell, for $270usd a week, I'll stay at the Betty Boop whorehouse.

I took the ferry over to Devonport (pronounced DEEEEE-ven-powert by locals........Let's stop right there.

Just to give you an idea of how the New Zealand dialect works, let's pronounce "USA"
In America:  "you", "ess", "eh!".

YOU-ESS-EH!

New Zealand just comes out of nowhere and decides to butcher the language invented by Americans thousands of years ago.  Ready?

New Zealander:  "eeeewww", "eeeeeess", "aye!"

Let me break it down for you, and say it with me......

"eeeewww"....like someone just wiped a booger on your arm.

"eeeeeess".....like you want to go the opposite of wesssss.

"aye!"......like you are voting affirmative.

EEEEWWW!!!----EEEEESS!!!----AYE!

Ok now here's some pics from and of a few volcanic islands about 15km away from downtown Auckland.

The island below is only 650 years old.  Right now it's nature.  Soon it will be real estate.

Here's proof that I'm not actually on a gay cruise and just downloading pictures online.

That's about enough picture posting.  But to go out strong, here's the one that made me spit my Movenpick onto the sidewalk.........

Don't mind if I do!
